por Scarlett

Hello, my friend (hola, mi amigo). Welcome to the summary of the 12 Rules for Life, by Jordan Peterson (bienvenido al resumén de las 12 Regras para la Vida, de Jordan Peterson). So good to see you here (es muy bueno verte aquí). Rule #1: Stand up straight with your shoulders back (Regla #1: párate recto con los hombre hacia atrás). The importance of posture when we live (la importancia de la postura cuando vivimos). When we go out, when we talk to people (cuando salimos, cuando hablamos con las personas). When you have this posture of standing up straight and putting your shoulders back, your serotonin levels go higher (cuando tienes esta postura de levantarte recto y colocar tu cabeza hacia atrás, tus niveles de serotonina suben). Rule #2: Treat yourself like someone you're responsible for helping (Regla #2:trátate como si fuese a alguien que tu estás encargado de ayudar). Treat yourself properly (trátate apropiadamente). It means (esto significa). Sleep well (duerme bien). Exercise every day (haz ejercicio todos los días). Eat healthy (come saludable).Take care of your mind (cuida tu mente). Take care of your body (cuida tu cuerpo). Take care of your spirit (cuida tu espíritu). As if you would do for someone else (como si lo hicieras para otra personas). Do it for yourself (hazlo para ti mismo). Rule #3: Make friends with people who want the best for you (Regla #3: haz amistad con personas que quieren lo mejor para ti). Make friends with people who tell you when you're wrong (haz amistad con personas que te dicen cuando estás equivocado). Make friends with people who are great, who are honest, who are correct (haz amistad con personas que sean optimas, que sean honestas, que sean correctas). Rule #4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today (Regla # 4: compárate con quien eras ayer, no con quien es otra persona hoy). Sometimes we're comparing our lives, our achievements, ourselves, with somebody else and that is not a good strategy (a veces estamos comparando nuestras vidas, nuestras conquistas, nosotros mismos, con otra persona y esta no es una buena estrategia). Compare yourself with yourself, from yesterday, from last month, from last year, from the last decade (compárate contigo mismo, de ayer, del mes pasado, del año pasado, de la última década). See how you are evolving (ve como esto está evolucionando). Rule #5: Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them (Regla # 5: No dejes que tus hijos hagan nada que a ti no te guste de ellos). The importance of setting limits when we raise our kids (la importancia de establecer limites cuando criamos a nuestros hijos). The importance of saying "no" (la importancia de decir "no"). The importance of educating our kids so they become better citizens so they respect others so they know their limits (la importancia de educar a nuestros hijos para que se conviertan en mejores ciudadanos para que respeten a los otros y conozcan sus limites). Rule #6: Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world (Regla # 6: Pon tu casa en perfecto orden antes de criticar al resto del mundo). Once more, the importance of looking to myself (una vez más, la importancia de mirar hacia mí). I'm going to see where I must improve (voy a ver donde debo mejorar). What I can do (que puedo hacer). Where I can go (donde puedo ir). Before seeing other people's mistakes I'll shape myself (antes de ver los errores de los otros voy a moldearme). Rule #7: Pursue what is meaningful, not what is expedient (Regla # 7: Busca lo que es significativo, no lo que es conveniente). The importance of doing things that fill our hearts (la importancia de hacer cosas que llenen nuestro corazón). Things that are correct (cosas que son correctas). Sometimes they're boring (a veces son aburridas). Sometimes they're not exciting (a veces son emocionantes). They don't elevate our emotions so much, but they're the things for the long term (elevan mucho nuestras emociones, pero son cosas a largo plazo). Thinking about the long term (pensando sobre largo plazo). In our relationships being loyal to our spouse (en nuestras relaciones ser fiel a nuestro cónyugue). With our friends, if I need to tell them something, I'll tell him or her, not somebody else (con nuestros amigos, si necesito contar alguna cosa, se lo diré a él no a otra personas). Rule #8: Tell the truth (Regla #8: di la verdad). Or, at least, don't lie (o, por lo menos, no mientas). There are two different ways (hay dos caminos diferentes). Truth (verdad). And lie (y mentira). Tell the truth (di la verdad). If you can't tell the truth, just be quiet (si no logras decir la verdad, mántente tranquilo). Be silent (mántente en silencio). The importance of being a good listener (la importancia de ser un buen oyente). Someone who is really listening to the other person without waiting to give the answer (alguien que realmente está escuchando a otra persona sin esperar para dar una respuesta). If you really listen, you'll be amazed by things you hear (si relamente escuchas, te quedaras maravillado con lo que puedes escuchar). People will reveal you things that are precious (las personas te revelarán cosas que son preciosas). Rule #10: Be precise in your speech (Regla #10 se preciso en lo que hablas). When you say something, be precise (cuando digas alguna cosa, se preciso). Say exactly what you want (di exactamente lo que quieres). Say exactly what you want to be fixed (decir exactamente lo que quieres que sea arreglado). Be precise in your speech (se preciso en lo que dices). When you say "everything is wrong" you can not fix anything (cuando dices "todo esta equivocado" no logras arreglar nada). If you say, "this is something we must improve" all right, we have a focus (si dices, "esto es algo que debemos mejorar", todo bien, tenenmos un enfoque). We know where to aim (sabemos donde mirar). Rule #11: Do not bother children when they're skateboarding (Regla #11:no incomodes a los niños cuando ellos esten patinando). The importance of letting our kids grow, letting our kids fall and stand up by themselves (la importancia de dejar que nuestros niños crezcan, dejar que nuestros niños se caigan y se levanten solos). "When they're skateboarding, they're not trying to be safe" (cuando están andando en patineta, ellos no están intentando ser seguros).
